The essay concerns the results of the archaeological excavation carried out in the area East of the s.c. "hypogeum L" in the Early Christian cemetery of Agrigentum in the year 1999; it contains, also, the catalogue of the Medieval coarse and cooking wares (ollae) found in the area, and the different types of supports used in the ceramic workshop established in the Late Antique cemetery during the Middle Ages.

This work, together with a paper previously published on LRCW2, allows a first classification of the ceramic manufactures wellmatched with the geolithological characteristics of the district of Durrës (Albania). Pantellerian ware is a Late Roman cooking ware whose production centre was established on the island of Pantelleria by the pioneering research of Fulford and Peacock almost 20 years ago (Peacock 1982; Fulford and Peacock 1984). Archaeological and archaeometric studies carried out by the authors of the present contribution during the past four years have aimed to fully characterize this ceramic class. This report, part of a wider project involving the ancient landscapes of Himera and Thermae, presents the archaeological and archaeometric results on Late Roman amphorae and coarse/cooking wares from Termini Imerese. The aim is also to illustrate the distribution of the same types of Roman pottery in the hinterland of Thermae, where the Dept. of Cultural Heritage of Palermo University has carried out intensive surveys (from 1982, published from 1988 until 2009). Nel 1980 sono stati scavati alla periferia di Palermo 4 silos riutilizzati al momento della chiusura come butti. in questa sede si è ripresa la ceramica da fuoco leggendo i dati alla luce del processo di islamizzazione della città. Inoltre, si è cercato di capire all'interno della topografia di Palermo cosa potesse esserci in quest'area fuori dalle mura, vicina alle sorgenti del fiume Papireto. Con molta probabilità quest'area della città, usata come cava di pietra, era la sede delle truppe musulmane: il Muasqar delle fonti scritte.
LATE ROMAN COOKING WARES FROM NORA (SARDINIA): INTERIM ARCHAEOLOGICAL AND ARCHAEOMETRICAL STUDY.

This contribution aims to present the interim results of an archaeological and archaeometric research on the cooking wares from the central quarter of Nora (Cagliari, Sardinia) where a team from the University of Milano identified several Late Roman residences. The morphological analysis of the different groups has put in evidence a low variation of the types except for their size. The archaeometrical data show that most of the analysed materials may correspond to a local or regional production (with certain degree of variation) of cooking wares widely used in Nora in the Late Roman Period.
